Rocking out with pure joy, a guitarist beams with excitement while strumming vibrant chords.

I want you to remember one thing very clear.

Guitar needs to be fun - enjoyable and yearning!

It's IMPOSSIBLE to play guitar for long-term periods of time without having that burning desire inside while playing music.

How on earth do you still feel a passion for the instrument after time (like 5, 15 and even 25 years) has passed by?

Yes, fun is one hell of a good motivator.

On the other hand, what happens if you don't have fun whilst playing guitar?

True - you won't endure the guitar playing process for any good amount of time to progress and fall in love with the instrument.

Well, of course, there are many reasons why to practice and play. It could be to create admiration from other people, to fill up some free time after work or when family doesn't need your help, etc. To develop your ears because you love music.

For me too - I love playing music. Actually, I love music in general!

To sum it up

If you have picked up the guitar because you love the process of playing (not showing off to everyone), you are going to have a big chance of enduring the year-long process of practicing.

Music playing is serious (to have discipline) and also not so serious (having fun).

But always remember that FUN is what will keep you glued to the instrument in the long term.

Cheers, my friend!
